I am Dr. Pradeepta Kumar Sethy — known to my patients and colleagues as Dr. P. K. Sethy. I completed my MBBS at Sriram Chandra Bhanja (SCB) Medical College, Cuttack, Odisha in 1996, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine in 1999 and a DM in Gastroenterology in 2003, both from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
Over 23 years of practice I have diagnosed and treated a wide range of gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic disorders, with a particular focus on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy — upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound and colonoscopic polypectomy.
I believe strongly in promoting health awareness and a healthy lifestyle. Alongside clinical practice I have published papers on gastroenterology in India and abroad, taken part in international clinical trials, and hold membership of scientific societies of leading medical associations worldwide.

Super-speciality training completed, with a thesis on extraintestinal manifestations of idiopathic ulcerative colitis.
Began consultant practice in Kolkata, building a referral practice in gastrointestinal and liver disease.
Governing Council Member (2007–09) and then Treasurer (2009–2015) of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India.

Research and clinical trials have been part of my practice from the very beginning — from post-graduate theses to multi-centre international studies in acid-related, inflammatory and viral liver disease.
Beyond clinical practice, I have contributed several papers on gastroenterology in India and abroad, and I am honoured to hold membership of the scientific societies of leading medical associations worldwide.
